Rima Fakih was crowned as 2010 Miss USA. this is the first time that Miss USA comes from an arabian descendant. Rima Fakih also be the proof that the winner of Miss USA was come from a Muslim. Fakih was born in 1986 in New York to Lebanese American immigrant parents, and grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, one of the nation’s largest Lebanese enclaves. Her family is said to practice both the Christian and Muslim faiths, another first for a Miss USA winner. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Fakih majored in Economics with a minor in Business.

Rima Fakih is believed to be the first Muslim-American Miss USA and the second Arab-American to be crowned. Fakih beat out Miss Oklahoma, Eizabeth Woolard, who, in a telling exchange, signaled her approval of Arizona’s controversial new immigrant law in the Q&A portion of the event.
Fakih, meanwhile, fielded a question on whether birth control should be covered by health insurance:
“I believe that birth control is just like every other medication even though it’s a controlled substance,” Fakih said. Huh? Hey, I guess it’s not as bad as Ms. South Carolina in the Ms. Teen USA pageant.
